Yes, we are patriotic, but the cheapest flight we found was leaving at 6:30am on Friday. We will be flying Delta all the way....stopping in Atlanta (the largest airport in the world) and then to Santo Domingo. It's going to be exciting!
From July 4 to the 18, we will be staying with our good friends, the Rojas family. At different times over the past five years, their family has stayed with us whenever they visited the US. We are very excited to spend time with them and visit IBSJ!

Next, for three weeks, we will be spending time with the Castillo family. Pastor Castillo's church is near a poorer section of the capital, El Dike. (the Dike) We are happy to have the opportunity to help them with various things, including building their church, a children's camp, VBS preparation, and visiting the congregation. We also hope to visit Pastor Guzman.
With Pastor Castillo's family, Josh is going to be doing more construction work. He's bringing his paint brush! Josh will be working closely with one of their deacons, Manuel. While we are there, a large group from Ohio is going to there too. It seems Josh will have a lot of opportunities to work and hang out with them. I am going to be mostly working with Mrs. Clara Castillo and her daughter, Laura. They are very busy every day working with the people from the church and helping the ministry in many ways. I hope to be able to lend them a hand with anything that I can help with, including with the VBS.

There probably will be more things that we will be doing, but not everything is set in stone yet. We hope that God will use this time for every one's benefit. We are very thankful that we are able to go! Lord willing, we will be spending 5 weeks in the Dominican. Check back for more updates!
