- the scene: a crowded street-- cars, bikes, people-- dust, trash, litter. a line of delapitated shop selling trinkets and tropical fruits: and a woman in front of her store with a broom. sweeping the debris into the road--when all around her was covered in trash.
this scene taught me soemthing of the pride of ownership and cleanliness even in the most difficult of circumstances.
- the scene: a busy road with thousands of cars almost crashing into each other-- people like glitter swarming the road: four men at a a dinky plastic table on the curb playing dominoes.... they were relaxing and enjoying themselves despite the din and dust and clatter.
this scene taught me something about the importance of having fun with the materials and resources that you have.

It is good to read your blog; it is very interesting. Your photos are striking and your descriptions of Santo Domingo are instructive. I have much excitement (I am very excited--- little help from my dictionary).
